Dual Language 7th Grade Teacher to prepare students for building, district, and state assessments while promoting biliteracy and sociocultural competence.
MUST COMPLETE SAFE SCHOOLS/VECTOR TRAINING AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
Responsibilities- Prepare students for building, district, and state assessments.
- Develop and deliver instruction in Spanish and English in accordance with standards and school language policies.
- Use the Purpose, Engagement, Rigor and Results (PERR) framework in daily planning.
- Maintain a positive, productive learning climate with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules and administrative regulations.
- Attend and participate in faculty in‑service trainings, committee meetings, and district programs.
- Allocate appropriate instruction for all students, including using MTSS and graphic facilitation.
- Apply and assess strategies for reading, math, and writing in both languages.
- Cooperate with para‑educators and other teachers in curriculum planning and classroom management.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Valid Washington State teacher’s certificate with endorsements in Elementary Education or K‑8.
- Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish (must pass STAMP).
- Satisfactory evaluations.
- Evidence of motivating and instructing students of all ability levels with emphasis on individual learning styles.
- Experience with culturally diverse children and recent elementary teaching experience.
- Recent coursework in reading/language arts, social skills, and science.
- Experience and/or training in GLAD, biliteracy strategies, and technology as instructional tools.
- Experience with MTSS model and grade‑level curriculum development.
- Strong communication skills with staff, parents, and students.
- Training in administering assessments such as WIDA, Star, and alignment with rubrics.
- Experience teaching writing to middle school students.
- Consistent attendance.

Job Requirements- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
Essential duties include standing, walking, and use of hands for typing, handling materials, and occasional lifting up to 26 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.
