Position is Full‑Time. Starting date:
Immediately.
Middle School Athletic Director responsible for overseeing all athletic programs, ensuring compliance with WIAA and Tri‑Cities Middle School Athletic Association regulations, and supporting coaches, athletes, and the school community.
Responsibilities- Arrange and publish athletic schedules.
- Process payroll for game workers and officials.
- Attend all athletic association meetings.
- Meet with coaches to discuss regulations, evaluate coaches, and develop coaching philosophies.
- Maintain and inventory athletic equipment; supply first aid kits to coaches.
- Issue bulletins on regulations and accident reports.
- Schedule and coordinate use of facilities for middle school league activities.
- Ensure coaches provide written communication to parents regarding travel, meals, and other pertinent information.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by building level administrators.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to meet and maintain coaching standards set by the Kennewick School District and WIAA.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
- Demonstrated effective communication with students, parents, administrators, and community members.
- Evidence of positive role‑modeling for students and promotion of self‑esteem and self‑worth.
- Ability to share responsibility of game management and supervision in rotation with building administrators.
- Prior experience as a successful Athletic Director.
- Training or experience in coordinating intra‑ and interscholastic athletic activities.
- Experience arranging transportation, officials, and hiring personnel for contests.
- Business management experience including annual budget development and ordering of equipment.
- Maintaining eligibility clearance and certification for all student athletes.
- Monitoring athlete academic requirements and notifying parents and students as required.
- Experience with WIAA and district paperwork (WIAA, TCMSSA, KSD, calendar updates).
- Strong short‑ and long‑term organization and management skills.
- Philosophy for coaching level applied and evidence of effective public relations.
- WIAA certification and compliance with WIAA and district rules and regulations.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with students, parents, assistant coaches, administrators, and community members.
- Three current recommendations.
Physical demands include standing, walking, pushing or pulling up to 26 lbs., lifting up to 26 lbs., and operating in various outdoor temperatures (-10°F to 100°F). The work environment may be outdoors and weather varied.
