POSITION DESCRIPTION - Head Girls Track

Goals and Responsibilities
  • To carry out the objectives of the sports program as outlined by the athletic director.
  • To assist the head coach in fulfilling administrative, program coordination, and developmental duties and responsibilities.
  • To instruct participants in individual, group, and team techniques, tactics, and physical training necessary for the realization of success.
  • To implement teaching and coaching philosophies consistent with the Kennewick School District and Washington Interscholastic Activities Association mission statements.
Required Qualifications
  • Possess current First Aid/CPR cards and be versed in related preventative health and training standards.
  • Meet and maintain coaching standards as determined by the Kennewick School District and the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated short and long-term organization and management skills.
  • Three current recommendations.
  • Demonstrated evidence of being a positive role model.
  • Clearly defined philosophy for the coaching level applied for.
  • Coaching experience in this sport.
  • Evidence of effective public relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and communicate with students, parents, assistant coaches, administrators, and community members.
  • Evidence of WIAA certification and compliance with WIAA and district rules and regulations.

Completion of Safe Schools web‑based training is required as a condition of employment.

Physical Demands

Sense: The employee is required to talk/hear conversations and other sounds. The employee must be able to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. The employee is required to taste and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, far vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Lifting: The employee must be able to lift or move up to 10 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 26 lbs; must also be able to lift overhead. The employee may be required to physically move quickly in an emergency or while performing student supervision duties.

Physical Hazards: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work outdoors in a wide variety of temperatures; from
-10 degrees F to 100 degrees F+. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in this work environment is moderate.

In‑building/In‑district staff will have eight school days, or eight working days during the summer to apply for a vacant position through the online application system. Out‑of‑District applicants must complete the online District application and attach a letter of interest, resume, valid Washington state teaching credential, and transcripts.
