COMPLETION OF SAFE SCHOOLS WEB BASED TRAINING IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
Qualifications Required- Valid Washington State teacher’s certificate appropriate for elementary education
- Satisfactory evaluations
- Evidence of motivating and instructing students of all ability levels with emphasis on providing for their individual learning styles documented by evaluations and/or references from former colleagues and supervisors.
- Evidence of maintaining a positive, productive learning climate within the classroom as well as with parents and colleagues documented by evaluations and/or references from former colleagues and supervisors.
- Evidence of recent successful primary teaching experience with culturally diverse children documented by evaluations and/or references from former colleagues and supervisors.
- Training and/or experience in the use of the Clear Math Series.
- Training and/or experience in the use of the CKLA Reading Series.
- Training and experience in the use of Reading Mastery, Corrective Reading and other Direct Instruction supplemental programs.
- Experience working effectively with a broad range of ability levels using RTI model and expectations.
- The ability to work as a team member in planning, curriculum development, grade level responsibilities, RTI implementation and building responsibilities.
- Training and/or experience in utilizing technology as instructional tool.
- Training and/or experience in administering various types of assessment tools – STAR & CBA performance assessments using a rubric, etc.
- Experience and/or training with Step Up to Writing.
- Experience and/or training in PBIS discipline program and willingness to implement it with fidelity.
- Evidence of successful communication with school staff, parents and students.
- Willingness to actively participate in PLC meetings.
- Punctual and consistent attendance.
- Work specifically to prepare students for Building and District and State assessments.
- Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of the immediate supervisor.
- Provide an effective program of instruction in accordance with the school's adopted curriculum materials by teaching each program with fidelity.
- Be a "team player" by establishing and maintaining cooperative professional relationships with others.
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and the facilities.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules and administrative regulations.
- Attend and participate in faculty in-service, trainings and meetings.
- Be flexible in schedule changes to accommodate other staff and community faculty usage.
- Take responsibility for maintaining good classroom management.
- Work collaboratively with para educators and other teachers to devise appropriate instruction for all students.
- Other duties as required.
The employee regularly stands and walks for prolonged periods, pushes or pulls 18-26 lbs, sits, kneels, crouches, twists, bends, uses hands to type, finger, handle, or feel, and reaches with hands and arms. They also perform tasks that require taste and smell, and communication via voice and telephone. They must lift or move up to 26 lbs occasionally.
