COMPLETION OF SAFE SCHOOLS WEB BASED TRAINING IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

Responsibilities
  • Teach computer applications and other business and marketing classes.
  • Recognize cultural diversity as a strength and meet the needs of all students.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of an integrated curriculum.
  • Incorporate technology into instruction.
  • Build business and community partnerships.
  • Work with advisory committees and attend meetings regularly.
  • Be a team player by establishing and maintaining cooperative professional relationships.
  • Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Be innovative and embrace change in education.
  • Participate in internships.
  • Commit to success for all children.
  • Show flexibility and cooperation with schedule changes and facility use.
  • Participate in building programs such as PLCs, teaching technology, violence prevention, multicultural education, study skills, and social skills.
  • Provide guidance to leadership as described in the duties of the position.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to Career and Technical Education (CTE) and support DECA and other CTSO activities.
  • Support the school’s student‑run business enterprises (SBEs) including the school store and other entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Washington State Teaching Certificate with endorsement/major in Business and Marketing Education.
  • Washington State CTE Certificate with Business and Marketing Education endorsement.
  • Satisfactory evaluations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of training or experience in using technology and real‑world applications to enhance business education.
  • Ability to use/learn Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Aware of current changes affecting business and marketing education.
  • Ability to motivate and instruct students of all ability levels, addressing individual learning styles.
  • Provide leadership and guidance, including DECA supervision.
  • Demonstrated success in maintaining a positive, productive learning climate in the classroom and with parents and colleagues.
  • Experience or training in guiding CTSO leadership requirements.
  • Satisfactory evaluations.
  • Punctual and consistent attendance.
Physical Demands

Stand and walk for prolonged periods, push or pull 18‑26 lbs., sit, kneel, crouch, twist, bend, use hands to type, reach with hands and arm. Talk/hear conversations, communicate effectively in person and by telephone, taste and smell. Required vision: close, far, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus. Lift up to 10 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 26 lbs.;

lift overhead. May be required to move quickly in emergencies or during student supervision.

Work Environment

Work outdoors in temperatures ranging from −10°F to 100°F; possible wet or humid conditions. Noise level moderate. Physical hazards may include outdoor environmental conditions.

Application Procedure

In‑District staff must complete an internal online application by 10:00 p.m. (PST) on or before the closing date. In‑building/In‑district staff will have eight school days or eight working days during summer to apply. The employee may choose but will not be required to meet with the building administrator. After eight days, if qualified, the principal will offer the position. If more than one in‑building employee is interested, the position will be offered to the qualified and senior employee.
