- Valid Washington State teacher's certificate with endorsement in Elementary Education and English Language Learner
- Satisfactory evaluations
- Experience and/or education in working with English Language Learning students in an elementary setting
- Experience with bilingual/bicultural students and flexibility in scheduling/support
- Experience with GLAD models of instruction; ability to set learning goals for ELL students
- Experience placing students based on assessment and with ELPA assessments
- Knowledge of second language acquisition and effective methods for bilingual students
- Knowledge of English language proficiency standards and current assessments
- Evidence of GLAD certification or willingness to be trained
- Experience using computer technology for classroom management, instruction, communication with stakeholders, and program promotion
- Participation in professional learning communities and willingness to support PLCs and data meetings
- Knowledge of current ELL curriculum and standard methodologies
- Supervisory experience directing work
- Punctual and consistent attendance
- Provide thematic-based instruction to increase English communication skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) for students not performing at grade level
- Lead development of an elementary ELL program with a push-in model of instruction
- Document ELL students' progress
- Maintain records for procedures and evaluations
- Prepare for and participate in parent involvement activities
- Attend meetings to support a strong program and serve as Lincoln Elementary School's ELL specialist in district planning
- Provide individual plans for each student and track 3rd and 4th grade students toward success
- Assist in supervision and placement of bilingual students
- Implement IDEA Section 504 and ADA requirements in education
- Plan for and supervise para educators and student assistants
- Conduct home visits as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
- Mobility: stand, walk, push/pull, sit, kneel, crouch, twist, bend, type, and reach
- Sensory: effectively communicate in person and by telephone; vision requirements
- Lifting: up to 10 lbs regularly, up to 26 lbs occasionally; may need to lift overhead
- Work environment: outdoor work in varied temperatures; moderate noise)
