COMPLETION OF SAFE SCHOOLS WEB BASED TRAINING IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Qualifications Required- Valid appropriate Washington State Teacher’s Certificate with Endorsement in Spanish
- Bilingual/Biliterate in Spanish and English (Must pass STAMP test)
- Satisfactory evaluations
- Evidence of Spanish cultural knowledge and ability to speak the language with authentic accent.
- Evidence of ability to motivate and instruct students through a varied instructional repertoire to account for individual learning style needs, particularly gifted students.
- Evidence of recent successful Spanish teaching or student teaching experience within the last five years.
- Demonstrated skills and interest in teaching students of all abilities, including students with special needs.
- Demonstrated success in maintaining a positive, productive learning climate within the classroom as well as positive communication with parents and colleagues.
- Ability to work as a cooperative team player within a department structure and a participatory based school organization, including the Make Your Day Program.
- Knowledge of and ability to use technology in instruction and student management.
- Evidence of the ability to motivate and instruct students of all ability levels with emphasis on providing for their individual learning styles (basic levels and extensions beyond basics).
- Evidence of awareness of the current changes affecting reading and writing education required as well as essential academic learning requirements in reading, language arts, and Spanish.
- Punctual and consistent attendance.
