COMPLETION OF SAFE SCHOOLS WEB BASED TRAINING IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

• Valid Washington State teacher's certificate with endorsement in Special Education
• Endorsement in Special Education
• Satisfactory evaluations

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Previous experience working in a multicultural setting
• Experience and/or training with computer technology and ability to assist students with computer operations
• Effectively communicates and develops relationship with students, teachers, administrators, parents and public.
• Able to work with interruptions while balancing daily responsibilities.
• Ability to de-escalate students when necessary.
• Evidence of ability to be a self-starter and proactive.
• Able to use basic computer programs to maintain records, enter timecard information and read and respond to email.
• Willing to become first-aid certified if required.
• Willing to become CPI trained.
• Punctual and consistent attendance.

• Provide instruction to students with Autism.
• Prepare instructional materials for K-5
• Participate in staff in-service training, meetings, activities and Make Your Day behavior model.
• Maintain records as necessary for efficient procedures and evaluation.
• Maintain professionalism by being confidential with all school-related information.
• Assist in supervision and control of students in order to promote a safe, orderly, positive learning climate in and around the building.
• Accomplish all tasks in a professional manner. Model appropriate and healthy adult behavior.
• Use Make Your Day when appropriate and trauma informed practices.
• Strive to be student trauma (ACES) informed.
• Use the both push-in modelandpull-out model when necessary.
• Create schedules for students K-5 to be in Tier ll classroom and provide necessary support when students are in gen. ed. classrooms.
• Work with teachers who will have the Tier ll students in their classroom.
• Provide training and support for para educators toensure students are learning academics while teaching behavioral/social skills.
• Observe students in the classroom setting to look for triggers, opportunities to self-regulate, etc.
• Willing to do home visits.
• Interact with people and speak in a manner that reflects community standards of politeness, civility and human sensitivity.
• Evidence of ability to assess and correct issues involving safety.
• Evidence of ability to establish and maintain a tactful, cooperative and effective relationship with students, parents, staff, fellow employees and management.
• Evidence of ability to approach assigned work in a professional manner, working toward the common goal of teamwork, pride in service delivery and continuous improvement.

• Prepare lessons and provide instruction using direct instruction materials and other appropriate intervention techniques k-5.
• Provide an effective program of instruction in accordance with curriculum and consistent with physical limitations of the location provided and needs and capabilities of individual or student groups involved.
• Provide effective strategies for students on the Autism spectrum.
• Create a safe environment for staff and students.
• Maintain all records according to specified timelines and SPED program requirements.
• Regularly attend district level
