Description:
The position involves performing home visits for therapy. Frequent office meetings are part of the role. Candidates must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and agency-required liability insurance. The average number of patients seen daily is 5-6. Each visit and activity, including documentation and travel, holds different point values. Contractors are assigned 5-10 patients per day, equating to roughly 6-8 points.
No guaranteed hours are provided. In situations of low patient census, contractors should reach out to discuss options to float to nearby clinics. The types of cases include Start of Care and Follow Ups. First-time applicants will not be accepted; recent Home Health experience is required. Weekend requirements vary per location and position and should be discussed during the interview.
The territory covers areas within a 75-mile radius. Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS standard rate, with compensation from one patient home to another. The commute to and from the first and last patient is not billable. Local candidates will be accepted at the same rate. Pending license applications will not be accepted unless the license can be obtained quickly.
This home health position may include varied schedules, primarily standard hours Monday through Friday. The contractor will cover designated territories. The need for this position arises from increased referrals, planned PTO, and a growing census. Travelers must be proficient in the required EMR systems. All documentation must be completed within 24 hours of patient appointments. Delayed documentation impacting billing and follow-up patient care may result in a cancellation.
The contractor must accept every patient on their schedule, regardless of distance between appointments. Productivity expectations are set at 30 points per week.
