Summary:The patient coordinator is a non-exempt, full-time position responsible for receiving incoming calls and routing them in a professional and courteous manner to the appropriate location. This position is in a fast-paced call center/central scheduling environment that is responsible for 90% of the provider scheduling. The correct applicant will be courteous and efficient in working with our patients and adhering to all guidelines set forth pertaining to provider schedules.
This position may be occasionally used to provide back-up for Patient Services Representatives. Accuracy in grammar and spelling, both verbally and in written communications, is an absolute must. Medical setting experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right applicant that has a history of providing excellent customer service and will thrive in a busy office environment.
Duties:
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of Tri-City Orthopaedic Clinic
- Promptly and professionally answer incoming phone calls and route them to appropriate person, department, or voicemail
- Register, schedule, and reschedule appointments in a call center/central scheduling environment
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clinical staff and providers on a daily basis
- Provide assistance and back-up as needed to the referral coordinator
- Obtain medical records from other clinics in preparation for patient appointments
- Ve rify insurance plans and authorization status for patient appointments. Work with L&I on authorizations for workers comp claims
- Provide assistance and back-up as needed for other administrative departments

Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year scheduling experience in medical setting
