Respiratory Care Therapist II, Pulmonary Function

The Respiratory Therapist II applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate respiratory care for any age-related needs of the patients served on assigned unit or department.

• Completion of an AMA approved 2-year school of Respiratory Therapy.
• For ECMO Specialist, two (2) years NICU/PICU experience.
• For Unit Core RT or Mentor RT, successful completion of SCH ICU Fellowship program or equivalent critical care experience and at least one year of Seattle Children's Hospital ICU experience.
• For Emergency Department RT, one (1) year NICU/PICU or equivalent critical care experience.

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers or current PALS certification (PALS certification required within six (6) months of hire).
• Current Washington State Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Any one of the following:
• Completion of ECMO specialist training and selection to be on the team of ECMO specialist;.
• Completion of training requirements including the Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) credential from the NBRC to be unit core RT, mentor RT, or ED RT;
  Or must be obtained within the 150 day probationary period.
• Completion and maintenance of all ED training materials including IV placement and oral medication administration.
• Completion of training in the Pulmonary Function or Exercise Stress Labs.
• CPFT required within six (6) months of hire or transfer for employees working in the Pulmonary Diagnostic's Lab.

• RPFT preferred for employees working in the Pulmonary Diagnostic's Lab.
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or other health related field.

$47.56 - $76.97 per hour

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

This compensation range is specific to Seattle, positions located outside of Seattle may be compensated differently depending on various factors **.
