Location:

Hours: 8 Hours per Day (7:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.), 260 Days per Year

Salary: $28.60 - $33.43

This is an Off-Schedule, non-bargaining position.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position processes all postings for certificated positions and screens all applicants applying for certificated positions for qualifications, completion of paperwork. This includes fielding questions and helping applicants and supervisors navigate the online application system, routing recommendations for hire, etc. This position may also include processing payroll for the department, ordering supplies and other related duties, including verification of employment. Additionally, the position tracks and provides information regarding Hepatitis B shots, acts as secretary for the PAR Program, does iGrants for administrative internships, National Board payments and performs many other duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • High school diploma.
  • Must present transcripts of highest level of education within thirty (30) days of hire.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to meet the Physical Demands of the position.
  • Must pass a basic skills test.
  • Completion of Safe Schools Web Based Training within thirty (30) days of hire and yearly thereafter.
  • Must pass a background check, which includes employee paid fingerprinting.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of three years of secretarial, office manager, or administrative assistant experience.
  • Knowledge of WA State certification requirements.
  • Experience in exercising sound judgment to organize, assist public , set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in accounting procedures, which includes setting up and managing/tracking grants, budget, purchasing, and requisitioning supplies.
  • Experience in working under pressure with numerous interruptions while maintaining a positive and appropriate attitude and routine.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data and facts, drawing valid conclusions, and interpreting instructions; use of good judgment in recommending solutions to problems.
  • Positive job performance evaluations.
  • Evidence of ability to maintain complete and absolute confidentiality in all settings.
  • Evidence of accuracy, proficiency, and speed in the use of Microsoft Office programs, and evidence of ability to learn software programs.
  • Experience proficiently using copy machines, printers, scanners, telephones, voice mail, and other office equipment.
  • Excellent work habits, attendance, punctuality, dependability, teamwork and ability to maintain positive work relationships.
  • Ability to work independently or in groups and take initiative to organize meetings/events.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • AA/BA/BS degree in Human Resources.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
