Overview

Albertsons Companies is at the forefront of the revolution in retail. This opportunity is for a Service & Delivery Technician III supporting Safeway and Albertsons retail grocery stores in Yakima, Washington, and the surrounding area. The role involves providing IT support, deploying equipment, and installing new hardware and software to support store operations. The position is based in Yakima, WA with 25% travel to Kennewick, WA and surrounding areas.

A $2000 signing bonus is offered.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Provide IT support to Safeway and Albertsons stores in and around Yakima, WA and the surrounding area.
  • Deploy equipment and install new hardware and software.
  • Work with computers, printers, POS systems, scales, and network servers.
  • Troubleshoot and configure IT hardware unique to retail; conduct break-fix repair on computers, printers, POS systems, scales, and network servers.
  • Work on different projects and learn new technologies; collaborate with fellow Technicians and store directors to support best-in-class retail stores.
  • Position based in Yakima, WA with 25% travel to Kennewick, WA and surrounding areas.
Main Responsibilities
  • Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout Safeway.
  • Repair approved standard technology hardware including PC/Server hardware, network hardware, RF hardware, and printers.
  • Provide complete recoverability of systems and applications.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide resolution.
  • Install new hardware and software.
  • Provide customers with IT support and meet service level agreements.
  • Provide network and remote connectivity (hardware/software) support.
  • Maintain equipment inventory controls and policies.
  • Coordinate with Support Center (STSC) on assignment of problems and concerns with computer systems.
  • Interface with Corporate IT groups for on-site support and technology resolutions.
  • Adhere to repair standards and service levels established.
  • Travel as required for the Zone Service Area.
What We Are Searching For
  • Exceptional telephone, customer service, and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather critical information and resolve high-pressure issues, particularly in support of remote locations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; ability to clearly present technical information and tailor explanations to varying levels of customer understanding.
  • Working knowledge of IT hardware, installation models, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and related applications.
  • Proven ability to work independently while also collaborating within a matrixed organization.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, overnights and provide on-call support.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency, strong business ethics, reliability, and consistent follow-through.
Physical Environment
  • Work may be performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Must sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.
  • May spend long periods of time driving and working in retail locations.
  • Use keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during the workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completing job duties.
  • Workday is fast-paced; some evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment; some twisting and turning with equipment installs.
