DescriptionThe primary position purpose is to provide operational leadership for the organization's residential treatment and supportive housing portfolios, shaping a high-performing system of care that is safe, outcomes-driven, and fully integrated within the 24/7 behavioral health continuum. This role is central to optimizing patient flow, reducing barriers to care, and positioning the organization as a regional leader in residential behavioral health services.
The Director of Residential and Supportive Housing is a leader who will shape the future of 24/7 residential care and community-based supportive housing for individuals with complex behavioral health needs. This role carries accountability across a portfolio of residential programs and housing initiatives, with a focus on elevating quality, driving innovation, and building residential and supportive housing care models. The Director will develop housing solutions that reduce recidivism, advance health equity, and meaningfully improve quality of life for the populations we serve.
By embedding social determinants of health into program design and championing a recovery-oriented culture, this Director will directly influence system outcomes.

- Housing Stability: 50% of residents successfully transition to lower levels of care or permanent independent housing.
- Operational Occupancy:
Maintenance of occupancy rates at or above 93% across the residential portfolio. - Regulatory Excellence:
Zero high-risk findings in state licensing audits and HUD/SHP (Supportive Housing Program) compliance reviews.

Key Activities:
- Lead Residential Program Operations:
Oversee the daily operations of residential treatment facilities (Level I, II, or III), ensuring adequate staffing, therapeutic programming, and facility maintenance. - Expand Supportive Housing Portfolios:
Direct the development and management of permanent supportive housing (PSH) and transitional housing programs, including liaison work with housing authorities and landlords. - Clinical Model Integration:
Implement best known practices (e.g., Housing First, Trauma-Informed Care, Milieu Therapy) across all housing sites to ensure a consistent standard of care. - Strategic Care Management:
Coordinate closely with the EVP to facilitate smooth transitions from acute/inpatient units into residential settings, preventing bottlenecks in the care continuum. - Quality & Risk Oversight:
Monitor incident reports, health and safety protocols, and medication management processes within residential settings to mitigate organizational risk.

Activities:
- Participates in implementing the organization's strategic plan, developing and executing strategies that align with the organization's vision, mission, and business objectives.
- Oversee the use of dashboards and reports to track clinical KPIs, treatment effectiveness, and patient insights.
- Recruit, develop, and inspire high-performing, interdisciplinary clinical and administrative teams. Foster an agile, innovative, and continuous-improvement mindset.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, IT, Compliance, Finance, and Clinical Operations to align Residential and Supportive Housing efforts with organizational priorities and regulatory requirements. Must possess a strong cross-functional mindset.
- Provide input and manage program-specific budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource utilization and maximizing reimbursement (Medicaid, Room & Board, etc.).
- Oversee compliance and reporting for federal (HUD, SAMHSA), state, and local housing grants and contracts.
