Data Center Systems Architect

What You’ll Do

Eaton’s ES AMER Sector Integration division is looking for a Data Center Systems Architect who can work remotely from San Francisco, Seattle, or Manassas locations. The role will contribute to next‑generation data center solutions, integrating power, cooling, and data transport technologies.

The data center industry is evolving rapidly with AI, cloud, and edge computing. You will be part of the Data Center Architect Team, providing systems‑based solutions, engaging customers, and driving innovation. The position requires an end‑to‑end systems approach across electrical, mechanical, network, and controls, with focus on value engineering, efficiency, resiliency, sustainability, and operability.

• Be knowledgeable of current trends and innovate the market.
• Identify and build positive relationships with account decision‑makers and influencers.
• Gain an in‑depth understanding of the client buying process and articulate it effectively.
• Understand and capture clients’ challenges and requirements, resolving them with reference to Eaton’s portfolio.
• Ensure effective handover to post‑order project management, product services, and customer support teams.
• Maintain oversight of all commercial‑related engagements to ensure customer success and satisfaction.
• Advocate the benefits of Eaton’s solutions within client accounts and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with sales and stakeholders at function, country, region, and global levels.
• Provide account‑specific guidance and insights to internal stakeholders.
• Build a bridge between Eaton and the client organization across R&D, product, engineering, marketing, services, supply chain, and leadership.
• Request and support marketing campaigns (ABM) and activities that grow Eaton’s relationship with the client.

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the data center business, covering any or all of gray space, white space, fiber, cooling, power, controls, and rack designs.
• U.S. person eligible for access to export‑controlled information (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

• Technical knowledge in data center design and construction, including fiber optics, electrical systems, mechanical cooling, controls, and liquid cooling.
• Practical on‑site data center experience.
• Project management experience with product design or management, knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to create customized data center solutions for hyperscale, liquid cooling, and modular edge.
• Experience with DMAIC process improvement.
• Proficiency in technical program management, agile, and process improvement.
• Strong consultative selling skills and ability to communicate Eaton’s differentiated value.
