Fusion Medical Staffing–Nursing is looking for a Travel Nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a 13‑week assignment in Kennewick, Washington.

- One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
- STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA / ARC)
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in the obstetric setting, including assessing maternal and fetal health, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.
Essential Work Functions- Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
- Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
- Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
- Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence‑based protocols
- Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
- Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
- Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking
- Proficiency with PC skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Physical stamina to remain in stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel and maintain professionalism
- Fine manipulation and motor skill proficiency for procedures
- Ability to cope with frequent public interaction, meet deadlines under pressure, and work under limited supervision
- Visual acuity and effective communication for sensory requirements
