Job Description
Talent Works International is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health for a nursing position in Kennewick, Washington.
Responsibilities- Provide general nursing services to clients and nursing direction to staff as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Conduct behavioral health groups following agency guidelines; facilitate group participation and interaction.
- Apply group process to develop insight, practice skills, and motivate client change; follow lesson plans and connect materials to individual treatment goals.
- Work with children, youth and young adults: apply development knowledge, address behavioral health problems, maintain confidentiality, consent, capacity, collaborate with families and community supports, communicate effectively across age groups.
- Perform inpatient core nursing functions: use nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation); carry out orders; establish professional relationships with clients and families; provide education, care coordination, support; implement preventive strategies; engage in treatment teams; delegate nursing tasks; represent and promote professional nursing; support ADLs (eating, drinking, dressing, bathing, toileting).
- Conduct crisis evaluation and intervention: use appropriate techniques for stabilization; assess risk to self, others, property; document and report required by law; apply QPRT principles; develop and document safety plans.
- Provide geriatric services: apply knowledge of aging, neurocognitive disorders, medical‑mental status interactions.
- Administer injections: observe standard precautions, verify orders, practitioners, perform right technique, evaluate for side effects, reschedule next injection, document electronically.
- Administer and monitor medications: safely administer according to orders; evaluate intended effects, side effects, compliance; communicate findings; provide education; support adherence; promote self‑management.
- Support inpatient medication‑assisted treatment nursing functions: understand substance use disorders, notify team, handle take‑out doses, maintain chain of custody, document, coordinate discharge planning, follow spill and waste policies.
- Conduct nursing assessment and planning: complete intakes, obtain clinical data, formulate treatment plans, set measurable goals, communicate recommendations.
- Screen program admissions: perform screening processes, collect information, facilitate communication, document decisions.
- Maintain service notes per guidelines: clear, respectful, descriptive; accurately reflect modalities, client status, progress.
- Use seclusion & restraints per policy: document behaviors, interventions, follow crisis protocols, use de‑escalation techniques.
- Monitor symptom and medication response: document ongoing assessment; provide education; promote self‑management; monitor side effects; coordinate with medical staff.
- Perform venipuncture: verify order, prepare equipment, perform safe technique, label tubes, discard instruments, manage storage, schedule courier.
- Develop treatment plans: follow guidelines, integrate strengths and barriers, set goals, describe modalities, re‑evaluate effectiveness.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Active RN license in Washington or Compact State.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance.
- Compliance with state and federal law regarding post‑offer, pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
