Position Overview

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Plasma Donation Center.

Salary is based on licensure and experience. Pay scale: $32–$35 per hour for LPNs and $48–$50 per hour for RNs, with additional training, education and experience bonuses.

About the Job
  • Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability.
  • Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain donor and staff confidentiality.
  • Provide donor education regarding general health and potential hazards.
  • Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
  • Assess history of illness or medications to ensure ongoing donor suitability.
  • Assist in employee training and administer the employee Hepatitis vaccine program.
Job Requirements

Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment as either a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse. Current CPR certification required.

Physical & Operational Attributes
  • Work involves standing and sitting for 2–4 hours per day.
  • Required neck bending and twisting for 1–2 hours per day.
  • Frequent hand and wrist movements; requires precise coordinated finger movements.
  • Foot movement includes walking, bending, twisting; occasional squatting or crouching.
  • Light lifting up to 15 lb with maximum lift of 50 lb; may reach below shoulder height.
  • Hearing acuity essential.
  • Color perception, near vision, and far vision correctable to 20/30 in one eye and 20/100 in the other.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or under guidance.
  • Exposure to biological fluids, electrical and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold below 32 °F in plasma freezers. Protective equipment required.
