Hours:

8.0 hours per day, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM; 40 hours per week

Clinical hours may vary based on site schedules and may extend beyond the standard workday. Additional time will be compensated, 181 days/year.

Salary: $39.96–$52.73 per hour (DOE)

This is a non-bargaining, off-schedule position.

Job Description

The Pre-Nursing Instructional Assistant supports the delivery and operation of the Tri-Tech Pre-Nursing Program under the direction of Tri-Tech Administration and the Nursing Program Director.

This position assists instructors in classroom, lab, and clinical settings by supporting student skill development, supervising activities, and helping maintain a safe and effective learning environment.

The program prepares students for entry-level healthcare careers, including nursing assistant roles, and supports transition to post-secondary education, apprenticeships, and industry certification.

Qualifications Required
  • Current Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Eligibility to serve as a program instructor under Washington State Nursing Commission requirements, including:
    • Teaching within area of professional expertise
    • One of the following experience pathways:
      • At least one year of recent (within the past three years) direct care experience with elderly or chronically ill patients, or
      • Three years of direct care experience with elderly or chronically ill patients, plus one year of nursing experience (paid or unpaid) within the past three years
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain prior to start
  • Evidence of successful job performance, including positive evaluations and references
  • Current negative TB test and Hepatitis B immunization series as a condition of employment
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and self-direction
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, recordkeeping, and time entry
  • Ability to follow district policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment
  • Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement
  • Qualifications Preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience working with high school-age students

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and supporting program operations under the direction of the Nursing Program Director
  • Support instruction by reinforcing nursing assistant skills and procedures
  • Monitor and assist students during skill practice and theory development
  • Assist with classroom and lab setup, organization, and cleanup
  • Support daily program operations and instructional activities
  • Assist with student records and documentation
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with district and industry standards
