The Climate and Inclusive Growth Division of the Institute for Capacity Development (ICDCI) is seeking an Economist/Senior economist. The selected candidate will be involved in capacity development in macro-structural areas. In particular, the division training covers a range of topics, including inclusive growth, regional economic integration, macroeconomics of climate, artificial intelligence, macroeconomic management of natural resources, and vulnerability diagnostics. The division also delivers training and technical assistance on integrating natural disasters into macroeconomic frameworks (FPP-type frameworks) and models (e.g. DSGE).

Training modalities include in-person and virtual delivery both in HQ and across the regional capacity development centers.

S/he will also be expected to contribute more broadly to ICD’s agenda in these macro-structural areas, including to the development and delivery of related internal training through the Internal Economics Training (IET) program, as well as conducting work to deepen macro-structural analysis, and contributing to divisional and departmental projects in these areas as they arise.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should be a _ fungible economist _ with a strong academic and policy-oriented background in macroeconomics and structural policies, good knowledge of Fundpolicies and practices, as well as excellent analytical, written and oral expository, and interpersonal skills. Strong quantitative and empirical research skills, including experience in applying econometric methods and macroeconomic modeling to policy-relevant questions, are highly desirable.

The successful candidate will be expected to work both independently and in teams, and must be flexible and able to work on tight deadlines. Superior time/project management skills are essential. The ability to deliver training in other languages, such as French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian and/or Portuguese would be an asset, though not required.
