Summary
The Sales Teammate’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” The role also includes cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine facility cleaning.
Compensation & BenefitsPay range: $17.13-$19/hr base rate plus 3% commission on sales. Final offers are determined by skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job‑related factors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude.
- Answer questions and recommend merchandise based on guest needs.
- Sell, upsell, and provide a wardrobe experience.
- Maintain product knowledge and current promotions.
- Meet personal sales‑per‑hour and net sales goals.
- Offer legendary service across front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area.
- Assist guests with try‑ons, fitting, and checkout.
- Prepare merchandise for alterations and manage returns and exchanges.
- Complete and use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily.
- Build and maintain guest relationships to create a client‑based business.
- Demonstrate leadership actions and uphold high standards even without a manager present.
Recruiting, training, development, and visual merchandise management duties include:
- Identify recruiting opportunities using various channels including jobs & careers cards and email referrals.
- Build guest loyalty and preferred relationships.
- Display merchandise to maximize sales and turnover.
- Stay current on product range and collaborate on improvements.
- Ensure sales floor sizing and proper freight display.
- Work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
- Open/close cash registers, balance drawers, and make deposits.
- Identify and manage security risks and loss‑prevention procedures.
- Follow POS procedures and execute policies regarding payments and exchanges.
- Perform merchandising tasks: freight handling, re‑merchandising, display prep, price markdowns, and transfers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store.
- Communicate feedback and concerns to the store manager and leadership team.
- Report policy violations and guest or teammate concerns confidentially.
- Adhere to Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all policies.
- Carry out special projects and other duties as assigned.
No supervisory responsibilities.
Education and ExperienceNo prior experience or training required.
Physical DemandsStand, walk, use hands for finger handling, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Occasionally sit. Lift and maneuver up to 30 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus capabilities.
Work EnvironmentRegular retail store work with moderate noise levels.
