Responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC equipment and performing other general maintenance duties as assigned. Reports to the Director – Plant Operations/Communications. Non‑exempt, FLSA status.
How You'll Contribute- Analyze, troubleshoot, install, repair, rebuild, adjust, and replace mechanical equipment and geothermal systems, including bearings, motors, heat exchangers, air conditioning compressors, water and pneumatic valves, humidity control units, coolers, freezers, and exhaust hoods.
- Inspect and verify the operation and safety of all heating boilers, rooftop units, air handling units, and ventilation systems.
- Prioritize, schedule, and assign work in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Provide technical training and guidance to other technicians.
- Assist technicians in troubleshooting systems.
- Monitor safety practices to ensure procedures are followed.
- Oversee, analyze, troubleshoot, install, repair, rebuild, replace, and adjust pneumatic, electrical, electro‑pneumatic, and digital control systems.
- Query and monitor control systems as they relate to energy management and preventative maintenance operations.
- Interface with supervisors and the director on projects and new construction.
- Identify, provide estimates, and prioritize trade‑related improvements to properties.
- Investigate air quality complaints and recommend solutions.
- Perform acceptance inspections of new construction and renovations in conjunction with facilities planning efforts.
- Research and make recommendations for changes to technical specifications.
- Respond to emergencies in buildings.
- Install, test, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and systems as scheduled or needed.
- Perform utility and structural repairs as needed, alone or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons.
- Inspect, test, and maintain records for all fire risers, sprinklers, extinguishers, fire doors, and other fire/safety‑related equipment and systems; move items within/between locations and from/to storage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Education:
Associate’s Degree or formal vocational/technical trades training (preferred). - Required Skills:
Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision. - Must be able to perform in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Maintain appropriate MVR certification for HVAC.
- Minimum
Work Experience:
5 years of technical trades directly related work experience.
