Badger Mountain Irrigation District operates and maintains an irrigation system that serves 4,500 acres and operates a potable water distribution system serving 900 homes.

The Entry Level Operator – In Training is primarily responsible for assisting in the day‑to‑day maintenance and operation of the District's irrigation and potable water distribution systems. This is a full‑time bargaining unit position.

• A current Washington State Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs over rough terrain and perform heavy manual labor in all weather as required.
• Ability to climb above‑ground water reservoirs as needed.

• Reasonable knowledge of work methods and equipment involved in public works construction and maintenance.
• Ability to work independently, carry out written and oral directions, and work well with other employees.
• Current Washington State Flaggers Certification.
• Basic knowledge of techniques, procedures, and safe practices associated with water utilities.
• Experience with plumbing, pipe fitting, underground utility construction, safety procedures such as confined space entry, and trenching/shoring techniques is helpful.
