Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (8 am – 5 pm)

Job Scope Summary

Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, the Warehouse/Driver II role ensures accurate and professional execution of deliveries while supporting essential warehouse operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate company vehicles in full compliance with safety, fleet program guidelines, and traffic laws.
  • Represent the Johnstone brand positively during all customer interactions.
  • Switch between warehouse responsibilities and delivery driving duties as required.
  • Deliver products to customers and facilities in a timely, professional manner.
  • Verify delivery documentation and ensure secure transport of goods.
  • Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, including handling returns or exchanges.
  • Adhere to traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety standards.
  • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues.
  • Assist with counter/phone sales and call customers regarding back orders when necessary.
  • Assist with receiving, unloading, and inspecting incoming shipments.
  • Pick, pack, and stage orders accurately.
  • Maintain organized inventory; label new inventory and follow put‑away procedures.
  • Schedule and coordinate inbound freight when necessary.
  • Use RF scan gun to manage inventory and track freight.
  • Update bin locations and complete paperwork for freight claims.
  • Support replenishing, order pulling, shipping, and showroom stocking.
  • Keep warehouse areas clean and organized daily.
  • Communicate with Supervisor/Manager to ensure coverage of all warehouse areas.
  • Process ship‑outs, warranty returns, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Prepare returns for shipment to branch or vendor.
  • Order and return compressed gas tanks as needed.
  • Recycle cardboard and empty branch garbage twice weekly.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment safely.
  • Support cycle counts and inventory audits as required.
General Duties
  • Attend ongoing training and assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the warehouse and vehicles.
  • Collaborate with teammates to meet daily operational goals.
  • Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and SOPs.
Qualifications and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to cross state lines.
  • 3–5+ years of delivery driving experience, preferably in a warehouse/distribution setting.
  • Box truck driving experience.
  • 1–3 years of warehouse experience in shipping/receiving and material handling.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • HVAC/R experience a plus.
  • Strong technology skills; use RF scanners and basic computer systems; type 30–50 wpm.
  • Valid DOT certification (required for delivery drivers).

Salary: $23 per hour

All new hires must pass E‑Verify, background check, MVR screening (if applicable), and a pre‑employment drug screening. The position requires DOT certification for all delivery drivers.
