Site Characterization Technician – NWMO

Location: Ignace

Join the NWMO as an Environmental Field Technician in Ignace, Ontario, focusing on site characterization for nuclear waste management. Engage in groundwater monitoring and data analysis while following strict safety protocols.

This full-time, 2-year fixed-term position requires two Environmental Field Technicians for the site characterization team. Your key responsibilities will include supporting groundwater sampling, managing field equipment, and preparing reports. Successful candidates will demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to work in a physically demanding field environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor groundwater levels and collect samples quarterly

• Assist in setting up and calibrating field equipment

• Compile and organize data for field reports

• Manage inventory of field equipment and tools

• Provide administrative support for project needs

Requirements:

• High school diploma with a focus on environmental studies

• Minimum 1 year of related environmental fieldwork experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

• Able to operate UTVs and ATVs (training provided)

• Class G driver’s license and security clearance eligibility
