Motor Boat Mechanic (NOC 72423)

Position:
Full‑time, permanent. Immediate start. Hours may vary based on resort and boat maintenance needs.

Location:

120 Totem Road Sioux Narrows, Ontario .

Wage: $31.55 – $33 per hour. Benefits:
Lodging available at $175 bi‑weekly, food included, health benefits.

Education:

No degree required.

Experience:

2–3 years in marine mechanics.

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain outboard motors and marine mechanical systems.
• Perform routine inspections, tune‑ups, and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot fuel, ignition, electrical, and starting issues on small marine engines.
• Assist with launching, recovery, and on‑water readiness checks.
• Complete service notes, maintenance logs, and parts requests accurately.
• Follow safety procedures and environmental best practices when handling fuel, oil, tools, and equipment.
• Work with resort operations staff to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
• Inspect parts and supplies, recommend ordering, and prepare engines for season start.
• Winterize boats and engines for storage.

• Completion of 2–4 year apprenticeship or college program, or equivalent experience.
• Strong outboard engine experience (Tohatsu considered an asset).
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues independently.
• Comfortable working outdoors in Northern Ontario conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, focus on safety and preventative maintenance.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to relocate to Northern Ontario preferred.
