The Light Vehicle (LV) Mechanic will provide service and maintenance support to the underground fleet of mobile equipment at Red Lake Operations. The position offers a 14/14 roster (12 hours) with residential preference and also open to FIFO and DIDO with camp accommodation.
A competitive salary of $100,000 to $130,000 CAD and bonus structure are offered.
Key Result Areas- Inspection of equipment and timely elimination of defects.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair underground Light Vehicle fleet safely and efficiently.
- Obtain task training and certification to operate all required equipment.
- Align with crews to meet or exceed safety and production goals within budget.
- Correct hazards and report safety concerns to Supervisor.
- Provide guidance for operator care program (wash, pre‑op & reporting, lube).
- Ensure all equipment safety features are operational.
- Create work orders for all work. Communicate open defects for planning and scheduling at PM.
- Comply with federal and provincial acts, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements include:
- Post‑secondary education in a mechanical program or apprenticeship leading to certification.
- Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma with a valid Automotive or Heavy Duty Mechanic Interprovincial Certificate and previous experience, or equivalent.
- Previous experience in the mining industry (desired).
- Experience with ATVs and Light Duty Trucks.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants.
- Excellent organizational, time‑management, and deadline‑adherence skills.
- Effective troubleshooting techniques and strong attention to detail.
- Good verbal and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others.
- Knowledge of computerized systems.
- Adaptability to change and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Works well in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Cooperative, flexible team player.
