The Position

Under the direction of the Foreman, we're looking for a Cement Mason/Concrete Finisher responsible for safely assisting in the placement of concrete and final finishing of concrete surfaces, and perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or other management.

  • Smooth out concrete in segments to ensure the concrete poured is level.
  • Fill roadways, driveways, sidewalks, bridges, and parking lots.
  • Arrange the concrete forms and prepare surface.
  • Level surfaces by using special blades, making sure all lumps and bubbles are smoothed over.
  • Use wood or plastic forms to shape the concrete and hold it until it is set.
  • Smooth high spots and fill depressions.
  • Make concrete beams, columns, and panels.
  • Finish corners by hand.
  • Use machines that vibrate concrete to fill air pockets.
  • Knowledge of and ability to safely use crane hand signals.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • A Class A CDL is strongly desired.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • Prior construction experience preferred.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.
  • Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments, and crawl in close quarters to strip concrete forms.
  • Member of a Local Cement Masons Union, or willingness to become a union member are required. Union membership is not required prior to employment. Our Human Resources Department is available to assist in that process as needed.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 75lbs unassisted.
  • Able to shoot grades.
