Operations Manager
SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a Superintendent responsible for coordinating, planning, and supervising assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a specific discipline area. The role involves developing and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service.
This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined by experience and location.
RESPONSIBILITIESPlan and implement to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule.
Review construction documents for completeness and constructability, understand contract documents, and coordinate plans with design engineers.
Develop and manage the project schedule and site logistics plan, utilize tools and equipment, and collaborate with project partner superintendents.
Coach, supervise, and develop team members; conduct orientations, planning sessions, site meetings, supervise project partners, and interview, hire, transfer, or dismiss team members.
Ensure proper task coding, lead and track work progress, handle team member training, and conduct career development discussions.
Build effective relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
Lead by example, offer coaching and feedback, and manage performance.
Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance; recognize and mitigate unfavorable conditions and seek process improvements.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
OR 10 years of trade experience.
Current driver’s license.
Ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects.
Detail-oriented, able to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
Basic understanding of construction law and business practices.
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills.
Ability to interpret and communicate company policies.
Effective communication and active listening skills, openness to diverse input and feedback.

Minimum qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of construction management or related experience.Base pay range: $111,400 - $167,100.
Minimum qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of construction management or related experience.Base pay range: $130,100 - $195,200.
Actual ranges are higher for the following locations:
Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%;
Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%;
Washington, D.C. – 12.5%.
