Central Services Program Specialist
The Central Services Program Specialist provides services related to all Central Service functions onsite at the Kenosha County Job Center/Human Services Building. The Central Services Program Specialist will assist with mail, supplies, safety procedures, systems, and training at the Job Center / Human Services Building. The Central Services Program Specialist acts as a frontline liaison with Human Service agencies concerning activities related to the direct provision of Central Services and on-going operations at the Job Center/Human Services Building.
Principal duties include:
- Identifying visitors/vendors who are required to complete the KCDHS Access Log. Scanning and forwarding completed logs to the Child Support Manager.
- Supporting performance improvement efforts by communicating opportunities to leadership, acting as necessary and maintaining accurate process and procedure documentation.
- Providing back-up for the Mail and Supply Specialist and the Safety Specialist as needed, to ensure seamless operations in department, as well as, the KCJC/HSB.
- Providing access services in the building, including greeting, screening, and directing visitors/participants.
- Ability to operate mail room equipment including postage metering machine.
- Demonstrating competency in communicating with a variety of people of varying ages, abilities, and multi-agency personnel.
- Maintaining a thorough working knowledge of the facility and the service delivery of the divisions/agencies collocated at KCJC/HSB.
- Acting as a point of contact for internal and external customers, including vendors, staff, visitors, and general public.
- Coordinating and implementing a system of training and orientation sessions for staff, including safety-related training.
- Conducting weekly/monthly/quarterly Goodwill safety inspections, including safety related drills and inspections, monitoring first aid kits and AED Units, and completing related documentation, as per GWI corporate processes, and in coordination with appropriate Kenosha County representatives.
- Communicating in an effective professional manner to visitors, participants, employees, and supervisors.
- Maintaining a positive working relationship with all facility personnel.
- Maintaining a thorough working knowledge of the facility, the DHS Emergency Policies, procedures, and the service delivery of the divisions/agencies collocated at KCJC/HSB.
- Maintaining a thorough working knowledge of the resources available from the Kenosha County Department of Human Services.
- Maintaining standards of confidentiality.
- Responsible for completing all other job duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements include:
- Two years of college education or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 1 year experience.
- A combination of experience in related field and customer service, including developed soft skills to work within a public contact environment.
- Works well independently, but also flexible enough to be directed at times.
- Willingness to enthusiastically complete both high-level and low-level tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical/sensory demands include:
- Good mental and physical health.
- Ability to walk, sit or stand for periods of time exceeding 60 minutes.
- Ability to run, climb and/or carry fire extinguishers weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both verbal and written form with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and subordinates.
- Ability to perform duties in adverse weather conditions including but not limited to extreme cold, heat, dry or wet conditions.
When determining placement within the salary range for this position Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago considers education, experience, internal equity, market demands and other qualifying criteria. It is not typical for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on facts and circumstances of each case.
