- Prepare and deliver engaging instruction in accordance with established curriculum guidelines.
- Manage classroom and laboratory environments to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Develop, monitor, and revise curriculum to maintain course effectiveness and relevance.
- Manage equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for instructional activities.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth.
- Advise students on academic matters and provide guidance to support their educational journey.
- Collaborate with advisory committees, colleagues, and industry partners to enhance program effectiveness.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings to contribute to academic planning and decision‑making.
- Promote educational programs, participate in student recruitment efforts, and support initiatives to retain students.
- Support student organizations and activities to enrich their educational experience.
- Develop and maintain relationships with business and industry partners to facilitate student opportunities and program growth.
- Complete program evaluations, engage in continuous professional development, and stay current in the field.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission and objectives of the institution.
- Must have one of the following:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mortuary Science from an American Board of Funeral Services Education (ABFSE) accredited institution.
- Degree from an accredited Service Education (ABFSE) accredited institution.
- Associate degree in Funeral Services from an ABFSE accredited institution with a Bachelor of Science in Business, Natural Sciences or related field.
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of full‑time or equivalent experience as a Funeral Director. Additionally, one of the following must be met:
- At least two (2) years of work must have occurred within the last five years.
- Two (2) years of teaching Funeral Service coursework at the post‑secondary level within the last five years is preferred. (One year of teaching experience is equivalent to two semesters full‑time or four semesters part‑time.)
- Must have a current license as a Funeral Director/Embalmer issued by the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS).

Experience with an email system (Gmail, Outlook), telephone and voicemail system, computer, and Microsoft Office Suite/Google Suite.
Essential Supportive Technology- Online Information Management Systems – experience with INFOnline or other online student advising, program, grading, or scheduling systems.
- Blackboard – experience with Blackboard or other web‑based course management systems.
- Technology‑based Instruction – experience with SMART releases, interactive touch‑screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players, or other classroom technology.
- Emerging Technologies – experience with emerging technologies such as social networking applications.
We are seeking candidates with flexibility to teach assignments inclusive of the following modalities and times:
- Instructional Modality: In‑person, online, and/or hybrid.
