Special Education Teacher

The Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction and support services to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The teacher collaborates with general education staff, families, and related service providers to ensure students receive appropriate educational services and opportunities to achieve academic, social, and behavioral success.

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for eligible students.
• Provide direct instruction to students with diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs.
• Modify curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
• Collect, analyze, and maintain student performance and progress data.
• Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, school psychologists, therapists, and other support staff.

• Valid Wisconsin Special Education Teaching License or eligibility for licensure required.
• Valid Illinois Special Education Teaching License (if willing to get Wisconsin License).
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
• Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and varying ability levels.
