Design Assurance Engineer
The Design Assurance Engineer inspects, audits, and reviews data and documentation from Engineering to ensure adherence to proper processes. This role supports software and complex electronic hardware development projects, along with design changes necessary for production and field support. The engineer is responsible for auditing processes, ensuring plans and standards are followed, and that certification artifacts meet FAA industry standards. This position requires standing up to other teams and effectively communicating when a design is not ready.
Responsibilities- Inspect, audit, and review engineering data and documentation.
- Support software and hardware development projects and design changes.
- Audit processes to ensure plans, standards, and requirements are met.
- Communicate effectively why a design isn't ready and what improvements are needed.
- Conduct four audits during the program lifecycle to ensure product compliance with FAA standards.
- Ensure certification artifacts meet expectations of the certifying authority.
- Proficiency in software quality assurance and requirements analysis.
- Experience in design assurance for embedded software.
- Ability to dig deep and thoroughly analyze product design compared to requirements.
- Knowledge of C/C++ programming, VHDL programming, and Linux.
- Strong auditing skills and experience in software development environments.

- Experience reporting to a regulatory authority, communicating compliance efforts.
- Passionate about thorough analysis and assurance processes.
- Exposure to systems engineering and software engineering.

Pay and BenefitsPay range: $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
