Electrical Engineer – Lead/Manager (Power Distribution & Instrumentation) - Contract Position
Emerge is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a long-term contract Electrical Engineer Lead/Manager job located in Kenosha, WI for our client, a large-scale contractor known for building complex manufacturing and other facilities. The Electrical Engineer Lead/Manage
r will be responsible for designing and overseeing power distribution and instrumentation systems for advanced facilities, including clean rooms and laboratories. This Electrical Engineer will work in a collaborative project engineering environment, utilizing leadership skills and attention to detail. The position offers a competitive hourly pay rate and the potential for permanent long-term employment with the client company.
- Develop designs for power distribution systems, lighting, controls, and instrumentation in clean rooms and advanced labs.
- Conduct campus/site power sizing, EMI analysis, and fault current studies.
- Design Tel/Data systems, emergency/UPS power, LED lighting, and fan filter unit controls.
- Use software such as SKM, Revit, Visual Lighting Studio, and others for feasibility studies, schematics, and BIM modeling.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with NEC, IBC, NFPA, and IEEE standards.
- Perform budget reviews, construction administration, and site assessments.
- Engage with technical groups to evaluate power needs and update specifications.
- Travel up to 30% domestically/internationally for site visits or data collection.
- 10–15 years of progressive electrical engineering and leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent);
Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is a plus. - Proven ability to lead technical teams, develop staff, and manage projects.
- Expertise in short circuit analysis, substation/switch gear design, and instrumentation/controls engineering.
- Proficiency with SKM, Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Visual Lighting Studio, and equivalent tools.
- Strong communication skills in English for specification writing, reports, and submittal reviews.
- Must be authorization to work in the U.S. No Visa sponsorship.
- Licensed P.E. or EIT with a goal of licensure.
- Experience with California Title 24 standards, multi-disciplinary projects, and cleanroom/laboratory design.
- Familiarity with microelectronics, biotech, pharma, or data center systems.
- Arc flash study experience and knowledge of EMI abatement (e.g., Client, shielding).
- Travel flexibility and adaptability to fast-paced, collaborative environments.
