Compensation
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $101,600 - $152,400 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full‑time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We are proud to offer all Field Service Technicians direct product training and training on all digital and physical tools associated with their work. Schneider Electric provides service vehicles, tools, uniforms, mobile devices, and laptops for daily professional use. This opportunity is a home‑based flexible work schedule with a 40‑hour guarantee (+ overtime). The Field Service Technician position will be within our U.S. Services business, specifically our ASCO team, which focuses on servicing critical data center equipment.
We are the OEM service provider for APC (American Power Conversion)/MGE/Schneider Electric equipment.
- Maintenance and repair of Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
- Service administration and reporting, including service order generation, annual inventory review, and identification of replacement parts
- Executing installation, maintenance, and repair on customer installed base in a specific delimited know‑how
- Performance of warranty work and start‑up service
- Perform Startup/Commissioning on equipment across the Schneider Electric product portfolio
- Testing, calibration, checking, correcting, adjusting, and part component replacement services on customer products
- Construction and testing of circuits and equipment utilizing various tools and machines, including computers, workstations, circuit diagrams, and test instruments/equipment
- Technical support in product service, product training, and applications, including on‑site audits
- Support serviceable Schneider equipment including electrical switch gear, PDUs, RPPs, BMS systems, PLCs, HMIs, Drives, power monitoring equipment, protective relays, and more
- Document all required information for each site (technical report)
- Analyzing complex problems in equipment and machinery and interpreting maintenance manuals, using knowledge of systems and electronics to isolate and correct the fault
- Assist in developing design modifications, implementing modifications, and providing installation support
- Develop and implement training courseware and provide training to customers and other service representatives
- Travel for both training and to support job site requirements in other areas
- Receive and participate in job training for ATS maintenance, ATS troubleshooting and repair, and ATS startups
- Identify new opportunities while attending customer sites to promote Services growth
- Determine when products should be upgraded or replaced
- Vocational education, military training, or transferable experience in electronics, electrical theory or similar discipline
- 5‑7+ years of relevant mechanical, electrical and/or Emergency Power service experience, technical proficiency in electronic/electrical component theory
- Experience writing reports and competency in presenting information and responses to managers, clients, and customers
- The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
