Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead our manufacturing engineering and tooling groups in a facility which does die-casting, stamping, secondary operations and plating processes. This role focuses on delivering cost-effective manufacturing solutions, developing processing expertise, and driving cost improvement initiatives within the plant.
- Lead teams to achieve financial and KPI results.
- Implement changes in manufacturing technology and processes.
- Streamline the new tooling build process and simplify operations.
- Ensure timely and budget-compliant new product launches.
- Manage changes in demand, resource availability, and supply shortages.
- Develop standardized process designs and business systems.
- Create and execute plans for improvement activities.
- Apply lean concepts and industry benchmarks to optimize processes.
- Specify and request capital equipment budgets.
- Develop partnerships with new product development teams.
- Manage a team of salaried and union associates.
- Oversee interviewing, training, and development of team members.
- Set objectives, prioritize work, appraise performance, and provide feedback.
- Plan for succession and address disciplinary issues in collaboration with HR.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline.
Experience:
- Experience managing a high-performing tool room team with CNC, EDM, grinding, and tooling design/assembly.
- Background in die casting, stamping preferred.
- Hands-on experience in process improvement, optimization, new product launches, GD&T, and preventative maintenance.
- Knowledge of lean and Six Sigma concepts and their application in manufacturing.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to develop solutions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence others.
- Project management experience and the ability to work in a team environment while developing direct reports.
