As an Infection Preventionist Wound Care Nurse, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents while supporting our team in providing top-notch nursing care.
About this Role:
As an Infection Preventionist Wound Care Nurse, you'll oversee daily nursing operations, providing leadership, supervision, and clinical guidance to our nursing staff. You'll work closely with our Director of Nursing to ensure regulatory compliance and positive resident and family experiences. Additionally, you'll focus on wound care, supporting residents with complex wound needs and developing evidence-based treatment plans.
Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs)
Conduct clinical rounds and monitor resident care plans
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives
Assist with care planning and interdisciplinary communication
Assess and manage wounds, including pressure injuries and surgical wounds
Develop and implement evidence-based wound care plans
Monitor healing progress and update documentation accurately
Conduct infection surveillance and staff training
Investigate exposure incidents and implement follow-up actions
Ensure compliance with all infection prevention protocols
Educate residents, families, and staff on prevention and care
Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin
Wound Care Certified or willing to obtain-
Wound Care Experience
Infection Preventionist certification or willing to obtain
Strong knowledge of infection control standards and nursing best practices
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
