As a Psychiatric Prescribing Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (APNP) at KHDS' Sunrise Clinic, you will be at the forefront of mental health care, providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, and prescribing appropriate medications. Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including patient interviews, mental status examinations, and diagnostic testing.
Identify and diagnose a range of psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other mental health conditions.
Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing psychotropic medications and monitoring their effectiveness and side effects.
Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Education:
Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, medication management, and coping strategies.
Keep accurate and up-to-date medical records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medication logs.
Provide crisis intervention and management for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes.
Engage in quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing education with best practices in psychiatric care.
Advocate for the mental health needs of patients within the healthcare system and the community.
- a. Maintain the confidentiality and other rights of participants, families and staff and follow HIPPA Guidelines for all verbal and written communication
- b. Problem-solve difficult situations in a timely manner
- c. Manage difficult or emotional consumer situations by responding promptly to needs, requests for assistance and services
- d. Give, receive and act upon feedback from supervisors and co-workers in an appropriate manner
- e. Maintain professional boundaries with consumers and co-workers at all times
- f. Attend training as requested by supervisors

A Master's Degree (or higher) in Nursing with active Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber credential required.
