Position Summary The Quality & Manufacturing Support Specialist supports quality, manufacturing engineering, ATEX certification, and HSE activities within Balluff's production environment. This role works closely with production, quality, engineering, and operations teams to support product quality, audits and certifications, engineering documentation, continuous improvement, and regulatory and safety requirements.

What You’ll DoSupport incoming inspection, material holds, product blocking, and product release activities.

Support product testing, quality investigations, audits, firmware updates, and other quality processes.

Work with production teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve product quality issues.

Support root cause analysis and corrective actions using quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, DMAIC, and Ishikawa.

Maintain quality records, calibration records, certifications, quality reporting, defect classifications, quality alerts, and related documentation.

Support supplier quality activities, vendor qualification, and supplier performance reporting.

Support internal and external audits, including UL, CSA, ATEX, supplier, customer, and internal quality audits.

Support ATEX certification activities, documentation, training, and compliance requirements.

Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, manufacturing, and operational performance.

Support engineering change activities, including ECR/ECN documentation and revision control.

Maintain and update BOMs, controlled documents, engineering drawings, work instructions, certifications, and product data using SAP, Solid Works, Windchill, and related systems.

Maintain production fixtures and test equipment, including related documentation and revision records.

Support manufacturing engineering activities, process improvements, and production support.

Support site HSE and OSHA activities, including safety audits, safety alerts, near-miss reporting, SDS and hazardous material documentation, first-aid supply monitoring, and related safety records.

Maintain customer and vendor qualification documentation and related compliance requirements.

Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.

Work Environment &

Physical Requirements Onsite position in Florence, KY within a manufacturing and production environment.

Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.

Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Frequent use of computers, technical documentation, and inspection equipment.

Exposure to manufacturing equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

Required use of PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves.

What You Bring Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, Automation, Robotics, Electronics, or a related technical field preferred;
Bachelor's degree also considered.
2–5 years of experience in manufacturing quality, engineering support, production support, or a related technical environment.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes, production operations, and quality management systems (QMS).

Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.

Experience with technical documentation, engineering drawings, revision control, or document management systems preferred.

Familiarity with Solid Works, Windchill, or similar engineering documentation systems preferred.

Knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, DMAIC, or root cause analysis preferred.

Understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles preferred.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
