You’ll lead sales development initiatives in your assigned territory, developing and implementing new strategies for increasing revenue and meeting business goals within your region. This role oversees the account managers and a high‑performing sales team to ensure alignment with customer needs, and corporate objectives.

POSITION OVERVIEW:The Sales Manager maintains a positive, energetic, and high‑performing environment where employees can collaborate, grow, and improve. Your management duties include coaching assigned account managers, hiring/onboarding new team members, monitoring performance, and creating individual development plans. You’ll set clear expectations for the team and make adjustments as needed to make sure performance targets are met, including providing additional training when appropriate.
To support you and your team’s growth and identify professional development opportunities (certifications, workshops, training, etc.). Through these initiatives, you’ll empower your team to meet their goals and increase their sales volume.
Our Sales Manager’s day‑to‑day responsibilities include managing territory operations, developing key relationships, and swiftly resolving customer issues, providing executive‑level support when needed. You’ll also drive profitability through strategic territory sales programs and data‑driven method optimization. You’ll contact customers about payments for accounts receivable activities and coordinate with suppliers and product managers to create strategies for increasing market impact and customer engagement.
Supporting our future growth, you’ll define long‑term goals for the territory, research expansion opportunities and market conditions, and provide business recommendations.
Professional relationships are key to our success, and you’ll maintain strong connections with leaders by actively participating in supplier distributor advisory councils and related events. You’ll lead weekly sales meetings to support performance across all departments, participate in various business development activities, and assist wherever else is needed to meet short‑ and long‑term objectives.
SALES MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree in a related field OR 5+ years of outside sales work experience
- 7+ years of sales‑related experience (ideally industry‑specific)
- Proficiency with computers and CRM systems
- Valid driver's license, insurance eligibility, and the ability to maintain the cleanliness and safety of a four‑adult vehicle
- Strong research and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on customer/department needs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Leadership experience and team development skills - a bonus
- Maintain punctual, full‑time attendance
- Professionally represent the company and ensure compliance with all department and corporation policies/procedures
- Submit timely itinerary and expense reports
- Demonstrate effective and professional communication, writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Efficiently prioritize, plan, and coordinate work activities
- Handle multiple assignments/priorities in a changing, fast‑paced environment
- Adapt to different customer personalities and build relationships with decision‑makers
- Meet expected productivity metrics and maximize profit margins
- Pioneer new customers, products, sales markets, and territory/customer account plans
