Diesel Technician

Position Description

Permanent Full Time Diesel Technician available immediately to support the truck fleet at Ryder in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

• Hourly Pay: $27.19 per hour
• Certification bonus: up to $700 for each new ASE certification obtained
• Quarterly bonus: up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday; weekends off
• Hours:
  
  Second shift, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

• Perform basic vehicle maintenance
• Identify and repair components
• Perform preventive maintenance with training and support
• Maintain facility duties
• Execute entry level tasks
• Diagnose minor mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic tools required
• At least one year of transportation maintenance experience preferred
• Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A preferred

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively
• Willingness to work shift and weekend hours as required
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer knowledge
• Must drive Ryder vehicles and obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background checks
