Job Overview

KAC is seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission‑driven Family Advocate to join our Early Head Start team. The Early Head Start Family Advocate plays a vital role in building trusting relationships with families, supporting child development, and ensuring access to comprehensive services.

This position works closely with families, teaching staff, and community partners to promote family well‑being, goal achievement, and positive outcomes for infants and toddlers.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of a home‑based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework as part of an associate's or bachelor's degree.
  • A vehicle in good working order, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse staff, participant base, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of supervised experience working with families with young children.
  • Above average experience with computer skills and typing.
  • Ability to speak and write Spanish.
  • CPR and/or First aid certification.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and stoop. Approximately 55% of the time will be spent walking or standing. The employee must lift, push and pull a minimum of 60 pounds with help, 35 pounds alone, walk up and down steps, bend and climb a step ladder.
