The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is a single point entry for older adults and people with disabilities who need information and assistance with community resources and access to publicly funded, community-based long-term care programs. The Loan Closet Assistant will manage all aspects associated with loaning durable medical equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize durable medical equipment and other items that are returned and/or donated.
  • Identify items that are not in repairable condition so they can be disposed of.
  • Repair items that can be easily fixed. (i.e. tighten screws, replace walker skis on walkers, etc.).
  • Keep all Loan Closet areas stocked, organized, and clean.
  • Maintain clear documentation of each consumer connection including equipment needs, actions taken, communication efforts and outcomes.
  • Add, delete, and review items in inventory database daily. Record items that were cleaned and/or fixed.
  • Collaborate proactively with community partners to strengthen resources, connections, and enhance access for consumers.
  • Coordinate the delivery and/or pickup of medical equipment.
  • Coordinate changes in schedule with Information & Assistance Specialist Supervisor.
  • Work closely with team members and collaborate across departments to coordinate equipment loans and share pertinent client information.
  • Participate in community outreach events which bring awareness to the services offered through the Loan Closet.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand, crouch, push and pull equipment
  • Ability to clean equipment by hand and/or using a larger automated washer (if available)
  • Professional interaction with the public and co-workers
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel preferred
  • Reliable and insured vehicle
  • Valid driver’s license
