The Shipping Coordinator’s primary responsibilities will be to build, pack, and seal shipments leaving the company’s fast‑paced shipping room, with a heavy emphasis on outbound international shipping. Create shipping labels (mostly Fed Ex) for both domestic and international shipments and get packages to the loading dock. He/she may have to use scanners, computers, and scales.
This is a 2nd shift position. M‑F 3:45 pm–12:15 am
Responsibilities- Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs
- Build skids for larger, freight shipments
- Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped
- Retrieve outbound items from building occupants and bring to shipping room
- Affix proper paperwork to each package in preparation for shipping
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Fundamental reading and writing skills required.
Preferred Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year experience in shipping operations
- Microsoft Office
- Oracle
- Typing/Keyboarding
- Forklift Experience
- RF Scanners
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment with frequently changing dynamics
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- All Material Control Coordinator certifications including, but not limited to: DOT Hazmat Security Awareness and IATA Dangerous Goods (DG) Class 9 is a plus, will train immediately upon hire if not already in possession of certificates.
