Position: Side Hoe Operator for Water Projects
Join WCL as a Side Hoe Excavator Operator for underground water and sewer installations, beginning April 2026. This role demands experience and skill in detailed excavation and trench support.

The ideal candidate will have over three years of operating experience specifically in the underground water and sewer construction sector.

Your role will involve working alongside other construction crews, ensuring the safe handling of materials and adherence to trench safety. Following directions from the Topman and Foreman is essential for team efficiency and project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute side hoe operations for water system installations

• Assist with trench excavation and service connections

• Maintain job site safety and utility awareness

• Collaborate closely with the mainline crew

• Support efficient workflows around pipe layers and laborers

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of relevant excavator operation experience

• Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License

• WHMIS & CSTS 2020 certification preferred

• Dependable and team-oriented

• Strong job site situational awareness
