Controller
Job Description
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial, accounting, and reporting activities within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the integrity of financial data, supports operational decision-making, and drives efficiency. The Controller partners closely with leadership to manage financial performance, cost controls, and strategic growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
+ Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
+ Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations.
+ Develop and maintain internal financial controls.
+ Analyze financial results and provide actionable insights to leadership.
+ Oversee job costing, standard costing, and variance analysis.
+ Monitor labor, material, and overhead costs within welding and fabrication operations.
+ Partner with operations to improve margins and production efficiency.
+ Evaluate inventory valuation, work-in-progress, and COGS accuracy.
+ Support pricing decisions and project profitability analysis.
+ Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes.
+ Collaborate with department leaders to develop realistic financial plans.
+ Track performance against budget and identify risks and opportunities.
+ Provide scenario analysis to support strategic decisions.
+ Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
+ Manage banking relationships and financing arrangements.
+ Optimize accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
+ Supervise accounting staff in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general accounting functions.
+ Develop team capabilities and ensure accountability.
+ Establish efficient processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and audit requirements.
+ Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants.
+ Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
+ 5-10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
+ Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments strongly preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of cost accounting and job costing systems.
+ Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
+ Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ High attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to translate financial data into operational insights.
+ Effective communication with both financial and non-financial teams.
+ Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $74.00 - $84.00/hr.
