Basic FunctionKent State University’s College of Nursing invites applications for a full‑time, nine‑month, non‑tenure track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer beginning Fall 2026. We seek an experienced, student‑focused educator to join our dynamic and growing nursing program.
Additional Basic Function – if applicableThe successful candidate will primarily teach pediatric nursing in the BSN curriculum and may also teach undergraduate and graduate‑level nursing courses outside the pediatric specialty, as needed.
Examples of Duties- Responsibilities include both classroom and clinical instruction, with a strong commitment to nursing education at multiple levels.
- Teach pediatric nursing courses in the BSN program.
- Teach assigned graduate nursing courses within the college’s graduate curriculum.
- Provide high‑quality instruction in both didactic and clinical settings.
- Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students.
- Participate in curriculum development, evaluation, and program enhancement.
- Collaborate with faculty and clinical partners to support student success.
- Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Nurse Practitioner degree with a Pediatric Concentration (required at time of hire)
- Active unrestricted Ohio RN License (and NP licensure, if applicable)
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in pediatric nursing
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement
- Minimum of five years of pediatric clinical experience
- Experience teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Doctoral Degree (PhD or DNP) preferred

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements
Light work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
Must pass a security check.
