The Sr. Supervisor Distribution is responsible for leading and directing all facets of distribution operations, including order management, warehouse labor efficiency, fleet and facility maintenance, and compliance. This role coordinates personnel, materials, and equipment to optimize productivity while managing safety, service, employee relations, and quality standards across multiple distribution centers.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage distribution operations, including warehouse, fleet, and facility maintenance.
- Coordinate personnel, equipment, and resources to optimize operational productivity and warehouse labor efficiency.
- Oversee order management, storage, and shipping activities to meet operational objectives.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and career pathing for distribution personnel.
- Ensure compliance with safety programs, Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and company policies.
- Drive improvement projects and participate in cross‑functional teams utilizing Newell's Performance, Engagement, Achievement, and Knowledge (PEAK) continuous improvement program.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to hourly and salaried associates.
- Promote positive employee relations and resolve issues effectively.
- Administer attendance, payroll, and other HR‑related policies.
- Maintain adherence to safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
- Analyze and report on operational metrics, customer compliance, and cost of failure activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Shared Services, Sales Planning) on process improvements and customer requirements.
- Support strategic development plans for drivers and maintenance staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple facilities.
- Highly organized and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
- Proficient in PkMS, SAP, Workforce.
- Ability to coach, teach, and develop staff.
- Innovative and open to new concepts and process improvements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business, Supervision, Distribution, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years in a leadership role within a Distribution environment.
- Demonstrated success in project management and operational improvement.
- Desire for continued professional development and advancement.
- Experience managing both hourly and salaried staff.
- Willingness to work irregular hours and travel as needed for business or corporate functions.
