Job Description
The Shop Tech 3 will work under the oversight of the shop supervisor while exercising independence performing moderate to complex repair and replacement of components of industrial machinery including production machinery and finishing equipment for the commercial textile processing industry. The Shop Tech 3 will display excellent electrical and mechanical knowledge and demonstrate the company’s core values.
Essential Functions- Proficiently read and interpret technical manuals to understand and assess and repair equipment and controls.
- Independently use objective troubleshooting techniques to assess equipment issues and to efficiently create a plan for repair.
- Lead and execute a repair plan, correcting all defective components to optimal specifications.
- Lead and perform full testing to ensure the cause of operational issues has been addressed and corrected.
- Organize and maintain workspace to ensure a clean and safe environment for all team members.
- Organize and maintain workspace as directed by the Shop Supervisor.
- Proficient mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical background.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, wiring diagrams and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Able to work under pressure with limited time, direction, and guidance to complete work in a timely and accurate manner.
- Demonstrates persistence in the face of obstacles.
- Patient and professional demeanor.
- Ensure adherence to all Company Policies and Processes.
There are no supervisory responsibilities with this role.
Work environmentIndustrial shop environment with regular exposure to industrial machinery, possible noise, and respiratory pollutants. Wear PPE as required: uniforms, safety eye wear, masks, gloves, respirators, work boots, hard/bump hats, fall protection and ear protection.
Physical demandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to physically bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections. Demonstrate visual acuity to inspect products and manual dexterity to perform repairs.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds in the form of boxes of supplies or product components. Ability to operate a motor vehicle is required.
Travel is not anticipated; however, support of the service time can occur from time to time less than 10% of the time.
Required Education And ExperienceRequires knowledge ordinarily acquired from a high school diploma and a minimum of 5 years related field experience in an industrial environment.
