Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician
Walmart is expanding across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. The candidate will support and oversee repair of Walmart facilities refrigeration HVAC equipment, using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills along with hand, digital, and power tools.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair Walmart facility's refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and hand, digital, and power tools to complete jobs.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines by performing work according to practices and procedures outlined in the Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
- Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.
- 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
- Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
- Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification for refrigerant handling.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational or Technical Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) certification and 2 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls, OR 4 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
- Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
- Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.

Hourly wage range: $23.00 – $45.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Bonus incentives are available. Additional compensation may include premium pay ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
